INSIGHT
Sometimes we outgrow the stories we read as children, but they’re still held dear in our hearts, influencing our daily lives beneath the surface. For me, one of these stories is Enid Blyton’s “The Faraway Tree” series. Instead of keeping this memory within me as nostalgia, I wanted to make it the center of a project by combining it with our current taste in visuals and art direction.
CONCEPT
Using a vibrant, editorial lens these classic fairytale characters are brought into the 21st century. Distortion, topsy-turvey angles, and perspective add to the whimsical feeling and pay homage to the Topsy-Turvy lands at the top of the Faraway Tree.
The series was published on instagram as well as hand-bound into a storybook picture book.
